The Caelo sweater is a modern take on a classic ribbed sweater. It features saddle shoulders, a loose mock turtleneck and a relaxed fit. The sweater was born from designer Pauliina Leisti’s desire to create a warm, relaxed sweater for everyday wear. A central focus was the perfect mock turtleneck: it is designed to be neither too high nor too tight, ensuring a comfortable fit around the neck. The sweater is worked in a clean rib pattern that makes the ribbing more distinctive. If preferred, it can also be worked in a regular rib stitch.  SIZES 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9) **Recommended ease:** 7.25–8" / 18–20 cm of positive ease. *Note!* Because the gauge is measured from an unstretched rib fabric, the sweater feels a bit roomier than its measurements. Choose a smaller size if you are between sizes. Superwash yarn or other yarn that stretches a lot after washing is not recommended.    FINISHED MEASUREMENTS  **Chest Circumference:** 39.25 (43.25, 47.25, 52, 55.25) (60, 63.25, 67.25, 71.25)" / 98.5 (108.5, 118.5, 130, 138.5) (150, 158.5, 168.5, 178.5) cm. **Yoke Depth (centre back under collar to underarm):** 11.25 (12, 12, 12.25, 13) (14, 14, 14.25, 14.25)" / 28.5 (30, 30, 31, 33) (35, 35, 35.5, 35.5) cm. **Total Length (centre back under collar to hem) (adjustable):** 22.75 (23.25, 23.75, 24, 24.5) (24.75, 25.25, 25.75, 26)" / 57 (58, 59, 60, 61) (62, 63, 64, 65) cm. **Upper Arm Circumference:** 15 (16.5, 17.5, 18.75, 20) (21, 21.75, 23, 23.75)" / 37.5 (41, 43.5, 46.5, 50) (52.5, 54, 57.5, 59) cm. **Sleeve Length from Underarm (adjustable):** 15.25 (15.25, 16, 16.25, 15.25) (15, 14.25, 15, 14.5)" / 38 (38, 40, 41, 38) (37.5, 36, 37.5, 36) cm. MATERIALS **Yarn:** Yarn 1: Pernilla by Filcolana (100% Peruvian highland wool, 190 yds / 175 m – 50 g), 6 (7, 8, 9, 9) (10, 10, 11, 12) skeins in the colourway 818.   Or approx. 1130 (1260, 1390, 1540, 1640) (1790, 1890, 2040, 2170) yds / 1040 (1150, 1270, 1410, 1500) (1640, 1730, 1870, 1980) m of DK-weight wool yarn.   Yarn 2: Alva by Filcolana (100% alpaca, 190 yds / 175 m – 25 g), 12 (14, 15, 17, 18) (19, 20, 22, 23) skeins in the colourway 145.   Or approx. 2260 (2510, 2780, 3080, 3280) (3580, 3780, 4080, 4330) yds / 2070 (2290, 2540, 2820, 3000) (3270, 3450, 3740, 3960) m of lace-weight yarn. The sweater is worked holding three strands of yarn together throughout: one strand of Pernilla and two strands of Alva.   You can also work with only two strands or just one strand of yarn if the gauge is met. You need approx. 590 (660, 730, 810, 860) (940, 990, 1070, 1130) g of yarn all together but note that this is an estimation as the type of yarn will affect the yardage. Alternative yarn suggestions for DK-weight yarn are for example Semilla Melange by BC Garn, Jensen by Isager and Tumi by Rauma Garn, and for lace-weight yarn Mini Alpakka by Sandnes Garn and Hjerte Alpaca by Hjertegarn using one strand instead of two.    **Needles:** US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needle, 16–24" / 40–60 cm for the yoke and sleeves, 32–40" / 80–100 cm for the body and DPNs (or preferred needles for working small circumferences) for the sleeves. US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle, 16" / 40 cm for the collar, 32–40" / 80–100 cm for the hem trim and DPNs (or preferred needles for working small circumferences) for the cuffs.   **Notions:** Removable stitch markers (4 of the same colour, 1 of a different colour for BOR), waste yarn or stitch holders.  GAUGE 24 sts x 25 rows to 4" / 10 cm on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles in 1 x 1 Clean Rib St, after blocking. Wash the swatch and lay it flat to dry, do not stretch or pin it. Gauge is measured from a washed, dry and unstretched swatch.   NOTES The sweater is worked seamlessly in one piece from the top down. It begins with the collar worked in the round, followed by the neckline shaping using German Short Rows while simultaneously increasing stitches for the yoke. Once the short row shaping is completed, the yoke is continued with increases for the sleeves and body. When the yoke is finished, the sleeves and the body are separated and the body is worked in the round to hem. The loose-fit sleeves are worked in the round and shaped with decreases just before the cuffs.  The sweater is worked in Clean 1 x 1 (k1, p1tbl) Rib Pattern where all purl stitches are worked in the back loop. If preferred, the sweater can instead be worked in a regular 1 x 1 Rib Stitch. It is suggested to work a swatch using both stitch patterns to determine the preferred texture.
