Midnight Snow Shawl

This triangle-shaped Midnight Snow Shawl, with beautifully-detailed snowflakes, is worked in interlocking filet crochet from the bottom up and can be made with or without the optional lace border. The gradient blue background incorporates alternating 3-dc solid stitch groups to give the added effect of a sparkling night sky.  The width of the shawl increases by six mesh stitches (three on each side) every two main color and contrasting color rows. If you prefer to use a different yarn or to make a smaller shawl, you can skip to the finishing and optional lace border instructions, once you’ve achieved the desired size, to complete the shawl. This pattern provides both row-by-row written instructions as well as a design chart for reference. A tutorial is also provided to explain [adding mesh stitches on an angle][1]. Since this design has many diagonal stitches, it is recommended for someone who is comfortable with the interlocking filet mesh technique.
