Restauradores blue

The graphic design found at Praça dos Restauradores in downtown Lisbon is one of the most beautiful patterns of Calçada Portuguesa — the art of Portuguese pavement. I have used it for cushions several times before. Recently, I found a small cushion and some leftover cornflower-blue yarn in my stash, so it seemed natural to combine them once again using this striking pattern. It looks truly impressive, even in the small 50 x 30 cm landscape format. Plus, a small cushion like this is quick to finish if you have mastered two-color Jacquard knitting. If not — well, this cushion is the perfect reason to learn, isn't it? *Das grafische Flechtwerk am Praça dos Restaurodores in der Lissabonner Innenstadt ist eines der schönsten Muster der Calcada Portuguesa, der portugiesischen Pflasterkunst. Ich habe es schon mehrfach für Kissen benutzt. Nun fand sich in meinem Vorratsschrank ein kleines Kissen und ein Rest kornblumen-blaues Garn - da lag es nahe, beide erneut mit diesem beeindruckenden Muster zu nutzen. Auch im kleinen Querformat von 50 mal 30 cm macht es richtig was her. Und das kleine Kissen ist ja auch schnell geschafft, wenn man das zweifarbige Jacquard-Stricken beherrscht. Wenn nicht: Dieses Kissen ist doch ein Grund, es zu lernen, oder?*
