Butterscotch Socks

The Butterscotch Socks are a simple cabled design with a slip stitch heel flap and gusset. They are constructed cuff down, and can be knit using your preferred method for socks, be that magic loop, tiny circular needles, or DPNs (if using tiny circular needles, you will need a set of DPNs for the toe). The cable pattern is on a 10-round repeat, so the length of the ankle/leg can be adjusted to suit personal preference. Most 4 ply sock yarn will be suitable for this pattern. The examples pictured feature Hodgepodge Skeins 4 ply and Fiori Gradient Sock 4 ply. These socks lend themselves well to gradients and solid colours, hand-dyed, speckled, or striping yarn, or subtly variegated yarns. Two sizes are provided, which accommodate a heel circumference of up to 30cm and 35cm respectively. Sizing for the foot of the sock is quite flexible, as the cabled pattern repeats stop before the heel.
