Hollow Kni(gh)t: Scarfsong

Happy Silksong anniversary!! This is a pattern with charts for a scarf inspired by some key moments/abilities from the 2025 metroidvania Hollow Knight: Silksong (Team Cherry). Since I'd already made a Hollow Knight one and had a lot of leftover yarn, I decided to design a Silksong scarf to match! (If you have a sibling maybe you could make both, hint hint...) During the design process, I came up with a few iterations and couldn't decide which I liked more, so there are two versions of this scarf, with the only difference being the central motif. The sample I made is the "Any% TE" version, but I did test knit the other motif ("Lore") to make sure it looked ok (images are included; it's the skinny one with no bind-off). The scarf is double knit in stockinette stitch using DK weight black and white acrylic yarn. I used a bit more than 3 x 100 g/270 m skeins in total (about 1.6 skeins of each colour). The fabric will come out fairly thick, but may soften up with blocking and wear. I achieved a nice gauge using 3.25 mm needles, but you may change your needle size depending on your individual tension and yarn weight. The dimensions of my blocked scarf are 180 cm (L) by 21 cm (W). Unfortunately I blocked this one differently to my Vengeful Spirit scarf, so although they should technically have the same dimensions this one came out a lot smaller. I'll probably block it again soon and let it stretch out a bit more this time. I'll update the pattern details if the dimensions change at all. Anyways I can't believe it's been a year since Silksong released, I've lost track of the amount of times I've listened to the soundtrack and marveled at the details in the game. I feel like spending 56.5 hours knitting this scarf is a fitting tribute, considering all the fibre arts references Silksong makes. Although in retrospect, perhaps I should have made a shaw(l).
