Inspired by Gio Ponti’s geometric ceramics, Droplene explores repetition, colour and surface. Its high-contrast motifs echo the tiles Ponti designed for Sorrento’s Hotel Parco dei Principi in collaboration with Ceramica D’Agostino, where individual geometric elements were designed to combine into larger compositions - a modular approach that translates naturally into knitted colourwork. Each Hat in the Iterations collection is knitted bottom-up and in the round. The ideal yarn for these Hats is 4-ply or light sportweight, in a multi-plied fibre with some natural give, such as merino. This pattern is available individually, or as part of the Iterations collection eBook. **Hat Description** Droplene is a stranded colourwork Hat worked from the bottom up in two colours. The colours are equally weighted in the pattern, using two-stitch and two-row patterning. The Hat starts with a corrugated rib brim that’s finished with a lateral braid. The body pattern features a nested diamond pattern, which alternates and repeats vertically all the way around, creating a striking graphic effect.
