Reflecting Harry Bertoia’s experiments with wire grids and geometric form, Diamonde uses repeated diagonal squares to create a pattern that expands and contracts across the fabric. Inspired by his Diamond Chair, the design plays with both structure and negative space, translating its sense of movement and openness into knitted colourwork. Each Hat in the Iterations collection is knitted bottom-up and in the round. The ideal yarn for these Hats is 4-ply or light sportweight, in a multi-plied fibre with some natural give, such as merino. This pattern is available individually, or as part of the Iterations collection eBook.   **Hat Description** Diamonde is a stranded colourwork Hat worked from the bottom up in two colours. The colours are equally weighted in the pattern, using two-stitch and two-row patterning. The Hat starts with a corrugated rib brim that’s finished with a lateral braid. The body pattern features a diamond pattern, which alternates and repeats vertically all the way around, creating a striking graphic effect.
