Concha Shawl

I knitted the Concha Shawl with skeins of wool from Paula Neves, the Guardian of Wool (A guardiã da lã, in Portuguese). Her project's main goal is to preserve Portuguese wool. In the countryside, she cares for a small flock of sheep and also works with wool from other flocks of sheep from the Alentejo region. She dedicates herself not only to creating delightful yarns for knitting and weaving, but also provides workshops in her studio dedicated to working with wool for anyone who wants to learn more about this wonderful fiber. YARN To knit the shawl I used 3 skeins of Paula Neves, Horta do Ser (100g x 250m). Two skeins of color A (white) and 1 skein of color B (brown). GAUGE The gauge swatch is worked on 4mm (US 6) needles in 3-st/3-st (K3, P3) rib pattern: 21 sts and 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in (after blocking) NEEDLES 1 pair of 4mm (US 6) circular needles, with an 80cm (32in) cord or longer (if necessary, adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge) NOTIONS stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors.
