The body is worked bottom-up in the round with subtle shaping from waist to bust. The front and back are worked identically, then joined at the shoulders. A two-stitch applied i-cord finishes the neckline and armholes. The original sample used 94 g, approximately 301 m / 329 yd. Have 3 balls available for the sample measurements to allow for swatching and margin. Custom yardage varies with measurements, length and gauge. Yarn substitutions are possible. Choose a smooth Sport or light DK cotton or cotton-blend yarn that creates a firm, comfortable stockinette fabric. Knit and wash a swatch, then enter your actual gauge into the calculator. **GAUGE** 20 stitches and 30 rows = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 in in stockinette stitch after washing and fully drying. **SKILL LEVEL** Confident beginner to intermediate. Techniques include knitting in the round and flat, provisional cast-on, paired increases, binding off, SKP and k2tog decreases, picking up stitches, applied i-cord, and grafting or joining shoulder stitches. **PATTERN STATUS** The original garment shown in the photographs has been knitted, washed, blocked and measured.
