With this knitting pattern, you can make yourself a gorgeous hot water bottle cover. **Decorative and washable** I love it when the things we use around the house are beautiful. This cover will make you want to display your hot water bottle, instead of stowing it away. The lace repeat is small and simple. The design includes shaping to fit the bottle well and – quite importantly – this cover is easily removable for washing. The design features a (knittable) cord for closing and has no zippers or buttons. **A lace design for warmth** I planned to make a hot water bottle cover for many years. At first I envisioned a beautiful aran version full of cables, but I kept changing my mind about the design because something felt not quite right. It was only when I finally thought of lace that the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. You see, I was concerned about the thick cable fabric trapping the heat too much. This lace version is not only beautiful, but it will also let some extra warmth come through those eyelets, while still protecting the skin from direct contact. **Skill level** Intermediate: includes some short row shaping and a simple lace pattern, which is both charted as well as written out. It is not as difficult as it may seem and suitable for a lace beginner. **Yarn** I used 65 g (2 balls) of Scheepjes Softfun, which is a blend of cotton and acrylic. It is a soft, lightweight, washable yarn and it comes in many colors. **Hot water bottle** I designed the cover for a standard 2 Litre / 68 oz hot water bottle. The brand of mine is Fashy. **Free Gift Labels** If you are planning on making these slippers as gifts, Home of Yarns also has a gift for you! You get free printable gift labels and wraps to make your gift look even more awesome. **Languages** This pattern is available in 4 languages: UK English, USA English, German (Deutsch) and Dutch (Nederlands)! **Color blind friendly** I made an effort to make all of the Home of Yarns patterns color blind friendly, with dark text on a white background and if a chart is included, it is always in addition to written out instructions. For the charts, I use symbols in either black and white or other highly contrasting color combinations. I am quite positive that I did a good job, but I am no expert on color blindness. If you need any assistance reading the pattern, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me and I will be happy to help you out. **Accessibility** I am also interested in making my patterns accessible for more people, for example, for users of screen readers. If you are interested in a special version of this pattern, so that it meets your specific needs, please feel free to contact me. Tell me all about what would work for you and I will try my best to make the pattern accessible to you. I would love to learn from you and make Home of Yarns more inclusive. **Questions** Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions about this pattern. I am happy to help you out.
