**Gauge**: 36 sts x 38 rounds on 3mm needles, stockinette (stranded) **Sizes**: Mini Regular **Yarn**: Fingering Weight (see below for amounts) **Needles**: 2.25, 2.5, 3mm circular needles with 40-80cm / 16-32” cable **Finished Size**: *(not including collar)* Mini (500ml) 11.5cm x 16cm / 4.5” x 6.25” Regular (2L) 19.5cm x 27.5cm / 7.5” x 10.5” **Accessories**: Embroidery needle, stitch markers, 500ml **2L** hot water bottle **Difficulty** Intermediate **Techniques** Judys Magic Cast On OR long tail cast on and mattress stitch Working in the round Increasing Decreasing Stranded Colour work Following a chart **Yarn & Gauge** This pattern was written for superwash Merino yarn which by nature can grow a lot with washing/use. Negative ease has been added to allow for this so if you prefer to use a non superwash or woolly yarn, you may want to go up a needle size as not only will your cover grow less but will also felt a little with use, meaning it will get smaller (and more insulating). The best way to be sure is to gauge swatch. Both samples use Lay Family Yarns Soft Sock, 75% superwash merino, 25% nylon, 425m / 100g Mini - MC (Red) 20g / 85m, CC (White) 10g / 43m Regular - MC (Blue) 45g / 191m, CC (White) 15g / 64m **Construction** Worked bottom up and in the round starting with Judy’s Magic Cast On, increases are made to shape the bottom of the cover. The body is worked in a 2 colour stranded colourwork pattern. The neck is shaped with decreases and finished with a 1x1 or 2x2 rib collar worked using the magic loop method or on DPNs. Magic loop is recommended for the Mini size.
