**CONSTRUCTION** The vest begins with the center triangles which are worked individually and then joined into a square. The remainder of the vest is worked out from the center square with short row shaping for the shoulders and armhole areas. The Back and Front are identical and are worked separately then joined at the shoulders with a Three-Needle Bind-Off. The sides of the vest are connected with button loops which are worked as part of the final I-Cord Bind-Off around the perimeter of the garment. **SIZES** 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9) FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Chest Circumference (back and front pieces combined): 35 (37 ¼, 40 ¼, 43 ¾, 46 ¼) (49 ¼, 52 ¼, 55 ¼, 60 ¼)" / 89 (94.5, 102, 111, 117.5) (125, 133, 140.5, 153) cm. Recommended to be worn with approx. 2–3" / 5–7.5 cm of positive ease. Shown in size 3 with 2 ¼" / 5.5 cm of positive ease at chest. **MATERIALS** Yarn: Fingering-weight yarn in the following amounts: MC: 520 (550, 600, 650, 685) (730, 775, 820, 895) yds / 475 (505, 550, 595, 630) (670, 710, 750, 820) m. CC: Each triangle uses approx. 20 (20, 20, 22, 22) (22, 25, 25, 27) yds / 18 (18, 18, 20, 20) (20, 23, 23, 25) m of fingering-weight yarn if using one color per triangle. The center of the back and front pieces consist of four triangles (8 triangles in total). Each of the triangles can be worked using up small scraps of color or in one single color. The sample, shown in size 3, uses two different colors per triangle. 8 garter ridges are worked for the first shade and 13 for the second shade. Shown in: Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift (100% Shetland Wool; 115 yds / 105 m per 25 g ball) in shade Foxglove (MC) and yarn scraps from yarn stash (CC). Needles: US 6 / 4 mm circular needle, 16" / 40 cm, 24" / 60 cm and 32" / 80 cm length (main needle). US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needle, 16" / 40 cm (for neckband). Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking. Notions: 4 stitch markers (1 of which should be unique for beg of round), waste yarn, tapestry needle, 4 buttons (1–1 ½" / 2.5–4 cm in diameter) or desired size (see Pattern Notes below). **GAUGE** 21 sts & 42 rows = 4" / 10 cm over Garter Stitch worked flat using main needle, after blocking.
