**CONSTRUCTION**
This vest is worked in pieces from the bottom up. The split ribbed hem is worked flat and then the work is joined in the round to work the front stranded section with the addition of steeks. The back is worked flat. The front armholes are worked longer than the back and will wrap over the shoulder when worn. Once the steeks are cut open the shoulders are joined with a three-needle bind-off. Side seams are also joined with an exposed three-needle bind-off. Stitches are then picked up around the neck to work the neck ribbing, and armholes are finished with an I-Cord bind-off.

Needles:

US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needle, 32" / 80 cm (for back).
US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needle, 32" / 80 cm (second one needed for side seam TNBO).
US 6 / 4 mm circular needle, 16, 20, 24" / 40, 50, 60 cm lengths depending on which size you are making (for working front colorwork in the round — this can also be done using a long circular and working the Magic Loop)
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
Notions
4 stitch markers (one of which should be unique for beg of round), waste yarn or stitch holders (for holding live sts), tapestry needle, multi needle felting tool and mat (optional but helpful to secure steeks).
**GAUGE**
24 sts & 27 rounds = 4" / 10 cm over Fair Isle Pattern on US 6 / 4 mm needles after blocking.
22 sts & 30 rounds = 4" / 10 cm over St St on US 5 / 3.75 mm needles after blocking
