Shell Crochet Shoulder bag

This pattern is worked from the bottom up, starting with an oval base worked in joined rounds, then transitioning to a continuous spiral for the body. A shell stitch motif adds texture and elegance, and the bag is finished with a comfortable shoulder strap worked flat and sewn in place. SIZES: One size. The bag measures approximately 30 cm (12”) wide at the base and 25 cm (10”) tall, excluding the strap. The strap length is adjustable by adding or removing rows in the straight section (Rows 20–39). GAUGE: Not critical for this pattern, but maintaining consistent tension will give the best results. Using the recommended yarn and hook, the base should measure approximately 10 cm (4”) across after Round 6. MATERIALS: - Yarn: Worsted weight (Category 4). I used Marbella yarn, approximately 150–200 g (depending on color and density). - Hook: 3.5 mm (or size needed to achieve a firm, non-stretchy fabric). - Notions: Stitch markers, yarn needle, scissors.
