Alienated Bag

Are aliens real?? (I want to believe!) Well at least this bag is! This alien head bag can add a bit of supernatural whimsy to your wardrobe, as your side kick on your back, your hip, your waist, or cross body, because this pattern has directions on how to make this bag in so many ways. It can be made (and converted between) a hip/waist bag, a cross body/shoulder bag, and/or a backpack. Steps (and materials) are included for various accessories (with links) to choose from to make your own alien head bag [friend]. Check out my testers' work for all the different bag styles you can make from this pattern! I love all the color combinations they chose! This pattern uses US Crochet Terms in English. This pattern is a "beginner plus" level as you'll need to be comfortable with color changes and at least a little sewing. It can become a little more intermediate if you want to line it. This is my first bag pattern that DOES include lining instructions. Required Materials: Medium (Worsted-4) Yarn. I used: Simply Caron Soft Brites Limelight (118g / 218yd), Big Twist Value Black (9g / 20yd), and Big Twist Value White (1g / 2yd) 3.5 mm crochet hook Stitch markers, scissors & tapestry needle Shoulder strap/waist strap or create your own strap(s) (see optional materials) Optional Accessories and Materials: Zipper (10-inch or measure later) Fabric (over twice the size of the bag) Sewing thread, needle, & pins To sew your own waist/hip bag straps: 1-inch D rings (4) & 1-inch Swivel Snap Hooks (4) (set without slide buckles) Buckle & Strap Kit (Quick Release Buckles (4), Tri-Glide Slide Buckles (4), & 1-inch wide Polyester Webbing) Fabric fusion for Polyester Webbing To crochet your own shoulder bag strap(s): 2.5 mm crochet hook (Worsted) Big Twist Value Black (18g / 40yd) 1-inch D rings (2 or 4), 1-inch Swivel Snap Hooks (2 or 4), & 1 or 2 slide buckles (set with slide buckles) You may sell the finished product made using this pattern but give Hook & Riot credit when doing so.
