The finished blanket (without the optional border) is 228 stitches wide and has 252 rows. The pattern for the optional border consists of 7 rows When crocheted with a fingering weight yarn and a 3.00mm (size D; No. 10/11) (tested using Garnmanufaktur Lola yarn), the blanket measures 94cm x 98cm (38 x 39 inches) without the optional border. With the border, the blanket will measure approximately 97cm x 104cm (39 x 41 inches). With worsted weight yarn, using a 5.00mm (size H; No. 6) crochet hook, the blanket will measure approximately 168cm x 188cm (66 x 74 inches) without the optional border. Any yarn weight can be used to make Buttercup Cow, the pattern has been tested using fingering and worsted weight yarns.
