The Pawket Hood

A hooded scarf with pockets and ears! This started as a special request from my cat-obsessed niece. I set to strategizing with pen and paper and eventually got to knitting. I never intended to publish this as a pattern, but my weekly knitting group was insistent that I make this available to them. So here it is, a thank you for their many hours of support and laughter. The color-work pattern was improvised on the fly with the key directive from my niece, that it be a calico cat. You could try to replicate this, make it stripes or solid instead - or go with an entirely different animal just by switching up the colors! The ears were as close to yarn engineering as I've ever gotten - enjoy the fruits of my many failed attempts. If you are looking to make this larger, the easiest thing may be to increase the yarn/needle sizes and keep the stitch counts. But I can't wait to see what people make of this!
