Top-down t-shirt in a classic all-over lace pattern
A classic Ysolda design re-imagined as a breezy summer tee. The original Liesl cardigan remains one of Ysolda’s most knit designs. The new Liesl Tee is knit top-down with round-yoke shaping cleverly incorporated into the Old Shale lace pattern. A deep yoke and positive ease gives a breezy fit that’s comfortable to wear and effortless to style – perfect for warm summer days.
The size-inclusive pattern is designed to fit well across the size range with thoughtfully considered proportions. Optional E+ bust shaping makes achieving a great fit straight from the pattern easy and the vertical bust darts are worked into the lace pattern for an almost invisible finish.

The traditional Old Shale pattern combines a single lace round with three soothing rest rows, and the t-shirt will grow quickly with the satisfaction of working just one more repeat. Two versions of the pattern are included, one with charts and one fully written out so you can work from the format that suits you best.
**Yarn**
DK or light worsted weight yarn, plant fibre or silk blends are ideal.
**Shown In**
Sandnes Garn Line (53% Cotton, 33% viscose, 14% linen, 120yds / 110m, 50g) shown in 6061 and 2331. 2 strands of Sandnes Garn Tynn Line can also be used held together.
**Needles**
Size A needle: Size 5 US / 3.75mm 16” / 40cm, 24” / 60cm, and 32” / 80cm circulars
Size A needle: Size 5 US / 3.75mm dpns or circulars for your preferred method of working small circumferences in the rnd
Size B needle: Size 2 1/2 US / 3mm 16” / 40cm and 32” / 80cm circulars
Note: the top down yoke requires different needle lengths as the increases are worked, if you don’t have every length available it could be worked on magic loop until the stitches fit comfortably around the longer needle. For the largest sizes, if you don’t like your stitches being squashed on the needles, you might want to add a fourth length towards the end of the yoke.
**Gauge**
24 sts & 30 rnds = 4" / 10 cm in Old Shale pattern in the round on Size A needles after blocking.
Use the needle size you need to get gauge, the size B needle should be 2 sizes smaller than the main needle.
**Sizing**
14 sizes from XXS to 7XL with 2 cup size options
