*Bothan* (meaning “cottage” in Scottish Gaelic) is a cosy cardigan inspired by a Scottish stone dwelling. It feels warm and comforting, like sitting by a crackling fire on a quiet evening. With soft, textured knitting and a relaxed, oversized fit, it drapes effortlessly for an easy, timeless feel. MATERIALS **Yarn:** 12 (13, 14, 15, 16) (17, 18, 19, 21) skeins of Sayama by Pascuali (50% Bolivian highland wool, 50% baby llama, 122 yds / 112 m – 50 g), in the colourway Cream 307. Or approx. 1400 (1500, 1620, 1750, 1880) (2025, 2175, 2320, 2475) yds / 1280 (1370, 1480, 1600, 1720) (1850, 1990, 2120, 2260) m of DK-weight yarn. Alternative yarn suggestions are for example ColourLab DK by West Yorkshire Spinners, Pura Lana by Gepard Garn or Laine x Novita DK by Novita.  **Needles:** US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needles 32–40" / 80–100 cm for body, and preferred style for sleeves in the round, and US 6 / 4 mm needles in preferred style for cuffs in the round.  **Notions:** Stitch markers, stitch holders (extra cables or waste yarn), 4 buttons (1" / 25 mm in diameter), cable needle (optional). GAUGE 21 sts x 42 rnds and rows to 4" / 10 cm on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles in Textured Patt, after blocking.  NOTES The cardigan is worked from the top down and features European shoulder and modified dropped-shoulder construction. It is worked in a textured stitch pattern, with a double-knitted strip at the back shoulders and double-knitted buttonbands. The body is knit flat with the buttonband worked simultaneously, so it doesn’t require additional finishing. Tapered sleeves are worked in the round. Body and cuffs are finished with 2 x 2 Rib and a Tubular BO.
