*Offbeat* translates rhythm, repetition and displacement into fabric. Inspired by music (long and short sounds), as well as simple checkerboard patterns and colourblocking artworks, this brioche scarf offers a generous and cosy accessory in two sizes.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
**Length:** 76.75 (86.5)" / 195 (220) cm.
**Width:** 9.25 (13.25)" / 23.5 (33.5) cm.
MATERIALS
**Yarn:** Appledore DK by John Arbon Textiles (40% Devon Closewool, 40% Romney wool, 20% Exmoor Blueface wool, 273 yds / 250 m – 100 g).
C1: 2 (3) skeins in the colourway Tom Putt.
C2: 2 (3) skeins in the colourway Winter Stubbard.
*Note!* The colourway Winter Stubbard has been discontinued since the sample was made.
Or approx. 415 (670) yds / 380 (610) m of DK-weight yarn in C1 and in C2.
Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Double Knitting by Jamieson’s of Shetland, Morag DK by The Wee Yarn Company, DK by Tukuwool, Revival DK by Plies & Hellhounds Yarn or Drops Soft Tweed by Garnstudio.
Choosing 2 contrast colours is recommended – the more contrasting the combination, the better the colour-blocking.
**Needles:** US 4 / 3.5 mm 32" / 80 cm circular needles.
GAUGE
20 sts x 23 rows (1 row = brioche row a & brioche row b) to 4" / 10 cm on US 4 / 3.5 mm needles in Colour Blocked Brioche St, after blocking.
NOTES
The scarf is worked in Brioche Stitch and features 2 alternating sections: vertical columns and the horizontal checkerboard pattern. The edges have a built-in i-cord edging, made by knitting the first 3 stitches and slipping the last 3 stitches of every row.
