Defined by punk-pop as “garbage chic” style, featuring lace layered tops, tulle skirts, fishnet stockings and messy hairbows. Many girls, including myself, would go to the salon asking for the curly perms and then tease out our hair to be held in place with lots of hairspray for the messy big hair that was popular during that decade.
