Patiently Waiting

This pattern is free for the sole reason of sending a message. On August 20th, 2025 I suffered a ‘Widow Maker’ Heart Attack. I thought that I had food poisoning. I thought I was in tip top shape. Biking 6-10 miles daily, walking 4-6 miles daily, eating healthy and living a clean and sober lifestyle. Why would I ever have a heart attack??? Last thing from my mind. Turns out I have an abundance of Lipoprotein(a) or Lp(a) a type of cholesterol carrying particle in the blood whose levels are mostly inherited from your parents. High levels increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and aortic valve narrowing. Levels are set by your genes and do not change based on diet, exercise or weight. High levels usually cause no warning signs, meaning many people do not know they have it. The only way to know your level is through a simple blood test ordered by a doctor. If I can get one person, whose family has a history of heart disease, to have this simple blood test taken, I will have accomplished what I have set out to do. Please share my story.
