Watermelon Basket With Handles

Nothing says summer quite like watermelon! This cheerful Watermelon Basket with Handles is both fun to crochet and useful around the home. Made with two strands of worsted weight yarn, it works up quickly into a sturdy little basket that's perfect for organizing all those small items that need a home. Fill it with crochet hooks and stitch markers, sewing notions, candy, hair accessories, keys, or other small treasures. It also makes an adorable gift basket when paired with my coordinating Watermelon Dishcloth and Watermelon Scrubby patterns. The basket features sturdy handles for easy carrying and can be embellished with black buttons or embroidered stitches to create watermelon seeds. I'll also be sharing a video tutorial showing how to add a stiff, fabric-covered liner for even more structure.
