NEW BEGINNINGS SHAWL

The NEW BEGINNINGS SHAWL is a huge shawl worked completely in garter stitch. At first you work a triangle in rows – then you pick-up the stitches of all three edges and work a wide border in knit and purl rounds. The shawl has a neat iCord finish including optional iCord tails at all three corners. My sample is made from 400 gr/ 1.200 m Rauwerk No.2, a rustic sportweight yarn made from pure merino – but the shawl will look good in any kind of yarn or yarn weight – the different knitting directions will make it look special. ____________________________________________________________ *Der NEW BEGINNINGS SHAWL ist ein großes Tuch, das kraus rechts gearbeitet wird. Zunächst wird das mittlere Dreieck in Reihen gestrickt – dann werden die Maschen aller drei Seiten aufgenommen und der zweite Teil in Runden (rechts & links) gestrickt. Ein iCord Rand mit optionalen iCord Enden ergibt einen sauberen Abschluß. Das Original ist aus 400 gr/1.200 m „Rauwerk No.2“, einem rustikalen „sportweight“ Garn aus reinem Merino gestrickt – das Tuch kann aber aus jedem Garn in jeder Stärke gearbeitet werden – die verschiedenen Strickrichtungen machen es interessant.*
