Debbie's Wrap

Debbie's Wrap is a combination of all these things... a desire to tinker with familiar stitches in new ways combined with the joy and memories of my dear knitting friend, Debbie. Debbie's Wrap features the simple beauty of seed stitch surrounded by an uncomplicated yet beautiful cable and bobble stitch motif. Together these stitches create an elegant and sophisticated wrap. Although the pattern may seem challenging at first, it quickly becomes both rhythmic and memorizable, coaxing the knitter on to the next bobble row. Although this pattern comes in one size fits most and final measurements, after blocking, are 14 inches wide by 74 inches long, it is easily modified. If you have a limited amount of yarn, directions and tips are included to help you use as much yarn as possible, as well as how to lengthen or shorten your wrap to fit your specific needs. Along with the written directions, video tutorials are included for both the left/right cross stitches, as well as how I do the bobble stitch. If you are afraid of bobbles, don't be! The method I use is simple, easy to learn and stress free! Debbie's wrap can be created using a single strand of DK weight or by holding fingering weight double to achieve the recommended gauge. If you are using natural fibers that grow with blocking, I recommend gently pinning the wrap when blocking to create the width and length you prefer. The green sample pictured used four skeins of Berry Fun Yarns Yak Sock (437 yd/100 grams), held double. Final measurements of this sample were 16 1/2 inches wide by 64 1/2 inches long. The pink sample pictured used 3.75 skeins of Berry Fun Yarns Yak Silk DK (231 yd/100 grams). The model wearing it is 5 foot 8 inches and the final measurements of the wrap are 14 inches wide by 74 inches long.
