WELCOME DISCOUNT: get all my pattern for 25% off, use code WILD, valid until 14th of july26 Inspired by Laura Ingalls Wilder’s "Little House on the Prairie" series, bringing the warmth of traditional log cabin blankets into a modern, wearable knit. Construction The shawl is worked starting with a small base triangle. From there, you knit one garter stitch stripe segment after the other, alternating between both legs of the triangle. For each new segment, you will work across the live stitches and pick up and knit additional stitches along the edge of the previous section, allowing the stripes to grow organically. This pattern is incredibly versatile and perfect for stash-busting! You can use as many colors as you desire and it’s even possible to play with different yarn weights and qualities – go wild with scrap yarn! The possibilities to customize the shawl are endless, you can easily vary the width of the stripes within a single shawl to make it truly unique. All techniques used for this shawl are explained with photos or easy-to-follow video tutorials. The pattern includes coloring pages so you can test your color combinations. Use the hashtag #WILDERshawl to share your project on Instagram. SIZES You can adjust the size to your liking and make the shawl in any size, yarn weight, gauge and matching needle size. Sample in photos (4 colors / balls of yarn): Finished length: 154 cm (60.5 inches) / finished width: 49 cm (19.25 inches) A WILDER shawl worked with 3 balls of yarn would have the following approximate measurements: Finished length: 140 cm (55 inches) / finished width: 41 cm (16.25 inches) NEEDLES Circular needles to match your yarn. It’s best to use 2 needles as you work along both legs of the shawl alternately. Needle size sample: 4 mm (US 6) with a length of at least 80 cm (32 inches) GAUGE It’s recommended to cast on the shawl directly with your chosen yarn and matching needle size. After a few centimeters/inches, you can wash and block or steam-block the shawl to see if you like the fabric. Sample: 19 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in garter stitch, measured after blocking YARN Cardiff Cashmere Classic (DK; 100% cashmere, 112 m (122 yds) per 25 g) in shades 737 Nobu (color A), 736 Agape (color B), 644 Baby (color C) and 740 Arco (color D) These 4 colors would have been enough to finish the shawl, but I randomly used shade 517 Hermes for the last stripe to add a little extra splash of color. METERS NEEDED You need 4 x 110 m (120 yds) of 4 different colors. NOTIONS Tapestry needle, optional: knitting cords (if you don’t have 2 circular needles to work with)
