Gentle raindrops slide down a windowpane even as the sun begins to shine again. A Light Drizzle is a crescent shawl worked in all-over lace mesh interspersed with stockinette ‘raindrops.’ Optional beads accentuate the deep points along the bottom edge. This shawl is worked from the top down with increases along the top edge in addition to increases and decreases within the raindrop patterning. The total stitch count changes with each row. Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different yarn weight or needle size will affect the size of the finished project. Instructions are both written and charted. **Size** 66 (74)” / 168 (188) cm along the top edge and 16.5 (18.5)” / 42 (47) cm deep **Yarn** 675 (850) yds / 617 (777) m of fingering weight yarn Sample shown in Wendy’s Wonders Superwash Merino Silk (80% superwash merino and 20% silk; 800 yds / 732 m per 215 g) in Mythical Beast **Needles** US Size 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles, at least 40” / 100 cm in length US Size 5 / 3.75 mm circular needles, at least 40” / 100 cm in length US Size 6 / 4.0 mm circular needles, at least 60” / 150 cm in length **Gauge** 20.5 sts and 36 rows per 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch after blocking with Size 4 / 3.5 mm needles **Notions** Yarn needle, stitch markers (optional), 40 (45) grams of 6/0 seed beads, and a 1.00 mm or smaller crochet hook (optional) Thank you to [kaybe08](/people/kaybe08), [Chinsocks](/people/Chinsocks), and [thisDebknits](/people/thisDebknits) for test knitting!
