Secret History Cardigan

Construction: The Secret History Cardigan features a top-down seamless cardigan construction. This pattern utilizes European shoulder construction for a sloping back panel and a set-in sleeve for a more fitted look. The cropped body and double-knit button band create a classy and feminine look. Named after one of my favorite novels, Donna Tartt’s The Secret History, this cardigan invokes the feeling of collegiate autumns, bookish debate, and secret gatherings. The cables lining the button band softly reference Grecian columns and a reverence for antiquity. Modifications: The Secret History Cardigan features two different options for modification. The first is to add a second set of cable columns along the armholes that frame the set-in sleeve on either side. There is also a modification to alternate cable repeats with cable-free repeats to create a more elongated look and make space within the cable columns (both modifications are shown in the pearl-colored sample).
