Freya Socks

The Freya Socks are inspired by the traditional Icelandic Lopapeysa. They are knitted in the round from the cuff down using the magic loop method. They feature a traditional stretchy cuff in 1 x 1 ribbing, and a pattern along the top of the leg and end of the foot. The heel is constructed using a traditional heel flap with gusset, and the toes are finished using gradual decreases. The length of the leg is adjustable and can be made shorter or longer. The Freya Socks can be knitted with either 3 or 6 colors in the pattern. 3 colors: 50 (50, 100) g Drops Nord for Main color (MC), approx. 50 g Contrast color 1(CC1) and 30g for Contrast color 2 (CC2) 6 colors: 50 (50, 100) g Drops Nord for Main color (MC), 50g Contrast color 1(CC1) approx. 20g for Contrast color 2 (CC2), Contrast color 3 (CC3), Contrast color 4 (CC4) and Contrast color 5. The green sample is knitted in 3 colors and size 38/39: MC: Drops Nord, forest green (24) CC1: Drops Nord, sage green (19) CC2: leftover sock yarn from Hedgehog Fibers The beige/blue sample is knitted with 6 colors in size 40/41: MC: Drops Nord, marzipan (29) CC1: Sandnes Sisu, Navy (5575) CC2: Drops Nord, off white (01) CC3: Cheshire Yarn Hand Dyed, Bright Sunshine CC4: Drops Nord, ice blue (26) CC5: Drops Fabel, beige (101) NEEDLES 80cm long circular knitting needles for magic loop method nr. 2 and 2.5mm.
