Sheep Bandana Cowl

Originally designed for The Nifty Knitter Yarn Shop as part of the Puget Sound LYS Tour 2026: A cheerful bandana cowl that brings a touch of whimsy (and a flock of tiny sheep) to your stitches! Designed for the intermediate crocheter (or confident beginner), this pattern blends single crochet, double crochet, playful bobbles, and a touch of tapestry colorwork for a satisfying, engaging make. The bobble-stitch sheep pop into soft 3D, nestled right over your heart — joyfully ready to tag along on every yarn adventure. Materials for a two-toned version: - (Color A) 1 skein fingering weight yarn (approx 50 g / 110 yds needed) for the color of the sheep body and its rectangular background - (Color B) 1 skein fingering weight yarn (approx 50g / 110 yds needed) for the triangle part of the bandana cowl - (Color C) small amount of fingering weight yarn in a color that highly contrasts with Color A for the sheep face and feet (approx 5 g / 20 yds) Material for mostly one-toned version: - (Color A) 1 skein fingering weight yarn (approx 80g / 176 yds) for the majority of the bandana cowl - (Color B) 1 small skein fingering weight yarn (approx 25 g / 60 yds) for the body of the sheep - (Color C) small amount of fingering weight yarn in a color that highly contrasts with Color B for the sheep feet and face (approx 5 g / 20 yds) OPTIONAL YARN: It is also fun to hold a little bit of silk/mohair or silk/suri alpaca yarn with the sheep body yarn to make it even fluffier!! Pattern is worked in several flat pieces, joined, and finished with a small bordered edge.
