Granny Blanket Magic Formula

This is a pattern for a classic Granny Stitch blanket, with a beautiful fan shape border. HOWEVER - it comes with some fantastic additional extras! Instead of making a square blanket in the round, this pattern explains how to make either a square or rectangle shaped blanket in the round. It includes a magic formula for your starting chain, that guarantees your finished blanket will be as close to your choice of dimensions as possible. So whether you want to make a pram blanket, cot blanket... all the way up to the biggest size you can imagine, this pattern describes how to calculate the correct starting chain, to allow you to continue in the round, all the way to the end. From a square, to a long thin scarf shaped rectangle, **with this formula you can create a Granny Blanket in whatever width and length you want, to suit your project.** Although the pattern uses DK yarn and a 5mm hook, you could use any weight of yarn you want (of course, the gauge will be different), and the formula still works.
