Shadows

It is recommended you read through all instructions supplied in the summary document. In the picture above I used black and graphite both from the Stylecraft Special double knit range. The main colour is an ombre cotton/acrylic yarn, colour number 115 in 4ply purchased from Agnes World Ombre Yarn www.ombreyarn.com Total weight of lap blanket 1095g/3510 metres Ombre colour number 115 yarn = 345g/1300 metres Black yarn = 600g/1768 metres Graphite yarn = 150g/442 metres Size 135cms x 95cms Hook size 3.5 200 stitches x 300 rows The colour changes from the ombre yarn shown in the photos was achieved by buying two cakes of ombre yarn (500 metre and 800 metre) and working from the inside out on one cake and the outside in on the second cake, this then gives the effect of yellow, orange, pink, blue, green, blue, pink, orange, yellow and end. If you use a single cake (1300 metres) your colour change will go from yellow, orange, pink, blue, green and end. The pattern has a few more rows than you will probably need to get to the end of a cake (I finished at row 296). The pattern would also work well using different colours from the Stylecraft Special double knit range by changing the colour after each shadow line across the pattern. As the shadow lines are wavy this would result in 3 different colours being used on some lines.
