Behold the Spirit Yoga Mat Bag

Knit your own yoga mat bag in a breezy mesh style design with cotton yarn. The cotton is moisture wicking, and will keep your mat dry during transport. This bag features a wide and comfy strap that can be worn off the shoulder, or crossbody. It also has a separate drawstring closure at the top to keep your yoga mat secure - feel free to add some beads to liven up your drawstring tassel! The yoga mat bag is knit in the round, and is a top down knit. It involves 3 elements: the bag, strap, and drawstring. In addition to stockinette and garter stitch, the pattern uses a simple 4 row repeat to create the mesh design, and also icord technique to create the drawstring. It is appropriate for beginner-intermediate level of knitting. Any type of worsted weight cotton yarn would be perfect for this project.
