Angel Baby Pocket

Size: Length: 8” / 20cm X Width: 5” / 12.5cm For Angel Babies up to 20 weeks Gestation This Pattern is written in UK terminology Materials: Size 3.75mm Crochet Hook 45g DK yarn Large eyed needle Scissors 2 Buttons Ribbon X 1 length 18” / 46cm X 6mm width max. (can then be trimmed as required) Stitch Markers X 2 (or scrap yarn) Dc stitches are used throughout with one row of Tc for flexible fit Buttonholes at the top of the Pocket. (Sc and Dc in US terminology This pattern was created by Pat Farrow from her own original design. The instructions are written in full with none of the usual abbreviations apart from numbers. No charts are used as they are not needed to complete this project. The pattern was written at the same time as the Pocket was being created, then checked to make sure no edits were needed. Completion is as follows: Place the Front piece on top of the Back matching up the 4 starting chs. of each piece. Sew the 2 pieces together just along the increase rows you did at the start of each piece ending at the Stitch Markers. The Front Part is left open along the straight sides to make it easier to place the Baby inside. The Buttons need to be sewn on the Back in the row below the tc row on the Front Part. The spaces in between the sts act as Buttonholes. Place them directly below the Hood Surround edging. So where these 2 places meet. The Front part should curve outwards. Sew on the Buttons. Fold in the sides of the Back Part and thread a piece of Ribbon through each side at the widest point. Pull till the sides meet at the front and tie a bow. NB! The ribbon needs to be long enough so it can be loosened enough to open the pocket when the Baby is being placed inside but can be trimmed once the bow is tied. Fold the pillow along the 8 st row. Sew or crochet round, stuffing is not really necessary. The Pillow can be left loose or attached with a few sts through to the back depending where the Angel Pocket will be used and whether it will be packaged to avoid losing the pillow. There is a little overhang on the Hood surround for it to slide under. The designer Pat Farrow reserves the legal right to sell or share this pattern.
