MathematiKAL No. 1: Pi-thagoras

**Design** I designed this pattern with a cool mathemagical idea I learned about some weeks ago. **Release** The pattern will be released on March 14 or Pi-Day. Until then, the pattern will be a secret as well as its true name. Until then, the pattern will be discounted to 3.14 EUR automatically. Before the release you'll get an info sheet with this information and some more. **Some information** Nevertheless, I can share some information: - the shape is an asymmetrical triangle - the shortest side will be at least 100 cm long - you will work holding two strands (fingering + lace) together throughout - squishy texture and garter stitch - there will be simple intarsia by just changing the lace strand - large graphical element - choose your colours with more or less contrast, as you like (only the lace yarns need some contrast with each other, you can choose one of the lace colours the same as the fingering) **Knit-Along** There will be a Knit-Along hosted in the [Funnies Knitters Group](/groups/funnies-knitters) starting with the release of the pattern. The planning and chatting and showing off colour choices though can start right away! **Surprise** We will have a price drawing with patterns and yarn on May 1st where everyone showing a finished shawl by April 30th will be entered! I'd love to see you there: [Funnies Knitters: MathematiKAL No. 1][1] **What you'll need** - 5 skeins of [Funnies - Twisted Fifties](/yarns/library/dibadu-funnies---twisted-fifties) in one colour - 2 skeins of [Funnies - Yakamza Lace](/yarns/library/dibadu-funnies---yakamza-lace) in two different colours (one of each) - circular needle size 5 mm (or size to obtain gauge) - 2 long circulars / scoubidoo / scrap yarn for putting stitches on hold - darning needle for weaving in ends **Yarn** Barbara of [dibadu - alles in Wolle](/patterns/sources/dibadu---alles-in-wolle) has dyed really beautiful yarn especially for this MathematiKAL. She will happily assist you in choosing your combination! **Math** Not excited about math? Don't worry! There's nothing you need to calculate.
