The beautiful, speckled yarn inspired the name of the pattern. The pattern uses a fingering merino sock yarn and a Suri Alpaca fluff; they are knit in stripes with a simple but effective lace pattern to create a lightweight but cosy shawl or cowl. The shawl is a large shallow crescent which is easy to wear. The cowl has the same scooped edge as the shawl but a section of ribbing cinches it in at the back. **Information:** **Yarn:** 1x100g (425m) fingering weight in colour A and 1x100g (400m) Suri alpaca in colour B. **Suggested Needles:** US 4/3.5mm or needles required to get gauge. **Gauge:** 24 sts x 44 rows to 10cm/4” over stitch pattern unblocked; gauge is less important in a shawl, however, if your gauge is looser than specified more yarn maybe required. **Measurements:** Unblocked 174 cm/69” wingspan, 45cm/18” depth. Note: the fabric will grow significantly with blocking, steam or wet block to your desired size.
