**Warm Hugs Shawl** Warm Hugs Shawl is a simple triangle-shaped shawl in garter stitch. The pattern is inspired by the yarn that is recommended in the pattern - Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk Forgarn, which is one of my favorite yarns. The yarn is unspun and comes in giant balls. It is incredibly soft and light. Before it is knitted up, the yarn is quite fragile, but the finished garment is durable, warm, soft and light. Every time I share things I have knitted with forgarn, I always get a lot of questions from people who are interested in trying it. A recurring question is; what can I make with one ball of roving? And that's how the idea for this pattern came about; a lovely warm and light shawl that can be made with either one or 2 balls of Hillesvåg Forgarn. The shawl is worked from the middle and outwards in garter stitch. You increase both along the middle of the shawl and on the sides, and this forms a triangle shape. You simultaneously knit an i-cord edge and finally cast off the shawl with an i-cord bind-off. This gives a very pretty and elegant finish. The pattern is intended to be suitable for a beginner, although the yarn itself can be a bit difficult to knit with for a new knitter (see tips in the pattern). An alternative yarn suggestion if you do not want to knit with roving is blown yarn, such as Drops Air, Based Design Vibes, CaMaRose Snefnug etc. Blown yarn gives a fairly similar look to roving, but you do not get quite the same wooly properties that roving or other unspun yarn gives. The shawl on the cover photo in the pattern is knit in Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk Forgarn in the color Melert Mørk Brun. The size is small. Exactly 1 ball of roving was used to knit the shawl. **Sizes:** Small (large). **Finished measurements - tip to tip:** approx. 150 (200) cm. **Finished measurements - height:** approx. 65 (100) cm. **Gauge:** 14 stitches per 10 cm. **Suggested needle size:** 6 mm [US 10] (use the longest circular needle you have). **Suggested yarn:** Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk Forgarn (100 g = 200 m). **Alternative yarn:** If you can't get hold of roving or other unspun yarn, you can try a blown yarn (Drops Air, Based Design Vibes, etc.) held single. For a pretty effect, it is also possible to add a strand of silk mohair without significantly changing the knitting tension.
