Warm and Fluffy Fingerless Mitts

These folded cuff fingerless mitts are a quick and fun knit that will become your go-to winter accessory or make a wonderful gift. The folded top cuffs add extra warmth due to the double layer of rib, or you can unfold them to cover your fingers up completely. A great option for both keeping warm AND keeping fingers free for using a phone, typing, knitting, etc. The suggested yarn is a fingering weight yarn paired with a lace weight brushed yarn - hence the name "Warm and Fluffy" - which creates a soft fuzzy fabric that feels luxurious and insulates well. You may use any fingering weight yarn you like paired with any lace weight brushed yarn you like (typically mohair, cashmere or alpaca). For my sample I used: Holst Garn Haya - 35g/137yds/125m in color 01 Oyster Holst Garn Lucia - 16g/137yds/125m in color 17 Shadow This is a great project for single skeins and project leftovers since a pair of mitts uses les than 1 ball of each yarn. This pattern keeps things simple with 2x2 rib for the cuffs and stockinette for the hand, so makes for a great on-the-go or TV knit. The only tricky part is the Italian tubular cast on and sewn bind off, but any other stretchy cast on and/or bind off may be used if preferred. Knitted from the bottom up with 3.5 mm circular needles using magic loop technique Sized for a Womens Medium - fits a hand with a circumference of 7”/18cm (measured around palm, excluding the thumb) and a wrist circumference of 6”/15.5cm. To adjust size you can size up or size down your needle to adjust the gauge, use a heavier or lighter weight yarn, or you can add or subtract stitches. If adjusting the stitch count, do so in multiples of 4. The length of the cuffs may be easily modified to be shorter or longer according to your preference by adding or subtracting rounds of rib.
