Angle Parking

This soft, warm shawl is knitted from end to end in five slanted panels, each with a different stitch pattern composed simply of knit and purl stitches. Who would think that the final result would appear so beautifully complex? The depth and texture of the different stitches causes the shadows become part of the stitch pattern. The general shape is long and narrow, so it may be draped in different ways - please yourself! Angle Parking is suitable for a beginning knitter, but interesting enough for anyone. Yarn: Bad Sheep Yarn DK, color Whisper, 245 yd/100g, three skeins Alternate yarn: Other DK weight yarn, such as Barnyard Knits DK, Knit Picks Swish DK, Lion Brand Wool-Ease DK, Madeline Tosh DK Needles: #7 circular, 32 inches Other materials: scissors, tapestry needle, four stitch markers, one removable marker, crochet hook (optional, to pick up dropped stitches if necessary), die (to determine random row) Gauge in stockinette: not crucial, 5 stitches and 11 rows to the inch in unblocked garter stitch Finished dimensions: 72” wide, 14” deep (see my NOTES about blocking)
