Near the top of the mountain where I spend my summers, a sloping meadow cuts through a dense beech forest like a deliberate pause. Open, contained, and sharply defined, it stands in contrast to the layered complexity that surrounds it. This stole mirrors that tension: a clear, structured garter triangle emerging from an elaborate lace border, where order and intricacy coexist without ever fully blending. <hr/> <big>**Construction**</big> This stole is worked from the bottom up in the round. The stitch pattern transitions from a richly textured lace panel at the bottom to a simple garter-based section at the top, creating the illusion of a triangular shawl embedded within a rectangular shape. As the lace motif fades and gives way to plain garter, the triangular area becomes more prominent, emerging from the center of the fabric. The piece is designed to be adaptable: you can stop knitting at any point and still achieve a visually balanced result. To work in the round, the piece is knitted as a big circular swatch leaving approx. 20 cm of yarn between the ends of each row. These floats are later cut and trimmed to form a fringe on both short edges of the stole.
