**ABOUT**
A brioche adventure! This cardigan is worked top down in rows of two colour brioche. It alternates between two brioche patterns: straight rows & a herringbone created by strategic increasing and decreasing. The front bands are worked while working the body for minimal finishing. Why Twig & Twill? This cardigan is fully reversible — on one side we have the herringbone twill, inspired by woven twill fabric; and on the other side, it has the look of little branches (twigs) of brioche.
Difficulty: most testers said this pattern is suited to an *intermediate knitter* (someone who has knit garments and brioche before, but not necessarily a brioche garment). About a quarter of testers said this pattern is suitable for *advanced knitters*. There were also a few self-described “*adventurous beginner*” testers who were able to knit this cardigan!
Pattern Length: 39 pages, including some photos, supplemental yoke charts & a video link to a seaming method used for the front band.

**EASE**
This cardigan is super stretchy width wise, take in to consideration the stretch factor when selecting a size. If you’re looking for a fit with a little bit of positive ease, consider choosing a size very close to your actual chest circumference. If you’re looking for a fit with no ease, consider a size smaller than your actual chest circumference. For a fit with lots and lots of positive ease, still choose perhaps one or two sizes smaller than you’d normally choose.
**YARN REQUIREMENTS**
Your yardage will depend on your gauge, size and yarn chosen. These are estimates based on testing.

**SUGGESTED NEEDLES**
use size needed to obtain gauge, these are the sizes I was able to obtain gauge with:
MAIN FABRIC: 3.5mm (US 4) circular needles, 32 inches / 80 cm or longer.
+ 3 DPNs of size 3.5mm (US 4) or 3.25 mm (US 3) *(whichever you hand on hand, or the same size you are able to obtain gauge with)*
**NOTIONS**
darning needle, *to weave in ends*
scissors, *or other tool for breaking the yarn*
6 stitch markers
*optional: blocking tools*
**GAUGE**
22 sts x 24 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm square
*Note: Each row in brioche has two parts: an “A” and a “B”. These two combined make up ONE row. For example, working Row 1A & 1B followed by Row 2A & 2B results in two rows worked. If you were to count each A and B as their own row, the gauge over 4 inches (10cm) would be 48 rows (double).*
**TECHNIQUES**
