SWEATER CONSTRUCTION The sweater begins with the back. You will cast on the required number of stitches for the upper back and work flat, incorporating short rows to create a trapezoid shape. After placing the back stitches on hold, you will pick up the stitches for the left and right shoulders and work a few short rows before shaping the neckline with increases. The two shoulders are then joined flat. The front is worked flat as well. The final step of the yoke is to join the front to the back. The body is then worked in the round, combining stranded colorwork and cables, and finished with ribbing at the hem. The collar is worked in the round in ribbing.
