Roots And Wings Shawl

If you've never tried knitting two-colored brioche before, ROOTS AND WINGS is the perfect project to give it a go. It's pretty simple at first, so you can get to know the technique. Then you get to try out different types of brioche increases and decreases on the gorgeous edge of the shawl. It's so much fun! I promise that two-colored brioche is much easier than the internet often suggests. It has such a nice rhythm and flow to it. For me, it's one of the most enjoyable stitch patterns around! I designed the ROOTS AND WINGS shawl for a knitalong with my local knitting group. We meet every week, and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. It's a wonderful group of women who support each other and kick off the weekend together. We share our passion and our thoughts. Happy knitting! **This pattern was professionally tech edited and test knit before the release.** **INCLUDED ARE** - An introduction to two-colored brioche - A video tutorial demonstrating the Brioche Tab Cast-On (as well as written the instructions for this cast-on) **YARN** Woolstok Worsted by Blue Sky Fibers (100% fine highland wool, 50 g, 112 m / 123 yds) 4 skeins in colorway 1321 Loon Lake for MC (light blue) **and** 4 skeins in colorway 1317 Midnight Sea for CC (dark blue) **or** about 440 meters for MC and 360 meters for CC Please note that these values are only estimates. Changes in yarn or gauge as well as changes of the pattern can result in a different yardage. **GAUGE** 14 sts and 24 rows = 10 cm / 4 " in two-colored Brioche after blocking If you don't mind the finished measurements of your shawl being different from those stated in the schematic (see pictures), you can also knit this pattern at a slightly different gauge. Please keep in mind that this may affect the required yardage. **NEEDLES** 4.5 mm needles (or size to obtain gauge with) **TOOLS** A tapestry needle or crochet hook to weave in the ends and a removable stitch marker.
