✨ Pattern suitable for the Cachaielkal2026 Join the fun and find instructions here: [KAL][1] Valid Sep 18 - Oct 18, 2026 **Inspiration: The Butterfly Dance** The "Chal Mariposas" is named for its central lace motif, which resembles a small butterfly. Inspired by a desire for irregular, yet symmetrical shape, the design features three delicate half-circles. The ruffled border is added to the final section for a beautiful flirty touch. **Yarns Used:** 2 skeins of Patagonian Merino Light Fingering by Bagual (100% Merino Wool, Light Fingering weight; 600m/100g). *Main Color (MC):* 90g (Color 230) *Contrasting Color (CC) / Ruffle:* 30g (Color 230m) **Yarn Note & Substitution:** Any lightweight yarn (Light Fingering or Fingering weight) can be substituted, provided you have approximately 700m (765 yards) available. This is a mid-season accessory, so choose an appropriate yarn so it doesn't become too heavy. For the lace to be best appreciated, we recommend solid, semi-solid, or subtly speckled/degrade colors. **Difficulty:** Intermediate. This pattern is suitable for knitters familiar with reading charts and comfortable with basic lace and shaping techniques. **Techniques Used** To knit this shawl, you should be familiar with the Garter Tab Cast-On, Short Rows, Lace Knitting, various Increase and Decrease methods, and the Crochet Elastic Bind-Off. **Support Videos** Video links for the Cast-On (CO) and Bind-Off (BO) techniques are provided in both English and Spanish within the pattern.
