Erma Gean

I named this shawl Erma Gean to honor my mother who passed away suddenly in August 2025. She would have loved it. This shawl is more than a half circle that wraps around your shoulders and body. Worked from the top down, it finishes with a fan lace border. Samples were made with fingering/sock weight yarn/#1 (430 yards for a smaller size and 640 yards for a larger shawl) and a size G/4mm crochet hook. The smaller shawl measured 32" neckline x 12.5" long before blocking to 35" neckline x 15" long and the larger shawl measured 33" neckline x 13" long before blocking to 43" neckline x 18" long. It can be made any size with any weight of yarn with a hook size that works for that yarn. Save about 50% of your yarn back for the border or use another yarn for the border.
