Wide spines with cables in a contrasting color are worked on a background of reverse stockinette in the main color, separating each section of the shawl. A knitted-on border is worked perpendicular to the body of the shawl. This shawl uses the Intarsia method for colorwork. When switching to a new color in the same row, bring the new color up and around the previous color to prevent holes from forming in the work.
