Let your needles dance and welcome the season with a project that promises to engage and delight. **Construction** We begin at the top of the back, working flat and adding increases under the arms. The upper back is then put on hold while stitches are picked up for the front left. Once the front left is worked to the under arm, the front right is worked. The body is worked in the round to your desired length. Sample used: Body: US 7 / 4.5 mm circular knitting needles with a length slightly smaller than the finished circumference. Ribbing (one size smaller): US 6 / 4 mm circular knitting needle with a length less than ~20” / 51 cm for working the arm ribbing in the round, or greater than ~40” / 102 cm for working arm ribbing using magic loop method. Stitch markers: one unique marker for beginning of round and 6 additional markers, 1 locking stitch marker Darning needle Cable needle Row counter for cable pattern (optional) **Gauge** Using the same needle size, the cable and moss stitch patterns will produce different gauges so I have listed both. The front and back cable sections are the same for all sizes. The amount of moss stitch along the sides increases with increasing size. Since the moss stitch is a much looser gauge, it was important to take that into account to achieve desired body circumference. Front and Back Cable Pattern: 23 stitches x 32 rounds/rows = 4” / 10 cm in cable pattern, flat and in the round, blocked. Moss Stitch Pattern on Sides: 17 stitches x 32 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in cable pattern, in the round, blocked.
