Little Knit Clementines

The Little Knit Clementine is a fruit sprite, observed in cottage orchards and around fruit bowls. Notable characteristics include one green leaf and tiny, stick-like legs. Appears to pretend to be a clementine, but will run if approached. The clementines are constructed with small amounts of yarn, making them particularly well-suited for stash-busting and using up leftovers from other projects. This pattern is also available for free [on my blog][1]! **Size** The finished clementine is approximately approx. 18cm / 7.25” around at the widest point and 5.5cm / 2.25” tall (not including the optional legs). **Yarn and Yardage** The clementines use fingering weight sock yarn, and ~10 yards for C1 (orange), 5 yards for C2 (green), and 5 yards for C3 (brown, optional). Sock yarn with nylon or silk, or a high twist is preferred, as it will be more durable. Black embroidery thread or scraps of black fingering weight yarn is also needed if working the eyes **Needles and Gauge** US 1 / 2.5mm, or size needed to achieve a tight fabric. Exact gauge isn’t important for this pattern, but the fabric should be tight enough not to show stuffing.
