Double Win Mosaic Shawl

For my sixth annual Local Yarn Store Day design, I am continuing to celebrate the beautiful, mutually beneficial relationship between knitters and their beloved yarn shops. Enter **Double Win** - a striking mosaic knit shawl that embodies the joy of community, creativity, and connection. This rectangular shawl with gently flared ends weaves together two contrasting colors, each playing a vital role in creating bold, eye-catching patterns with simple slipped stitches. The result? A cozy, wearable piece that looks intricate but is easy and satisfying to knit. Much like the bond between knitters and their local yarn stores, Double Win is built on harmony. Yarn shops offer knitters a space to learn, find inspiration, and connect with others who share their passion. With every stitch of Double Win, you’re not just knitting a shawl … you’re celebrating the heart of your local yarn store. **Note about Yarn Selections:** Double Win is knit using 3 skeins of Light Fingering Weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors, approximately 462 yards per 100 grams per skein. The shawl's generous size is easy to adjust by adding or eliminating repeats. Combine solid, speckle, gentle tonal, or long gradient yarns that coordinate but aren't perfectly matched so the mosaic stitches will shine. Sharply variegated colorways are not recommended for this design. <BR> <hr> <BR> **YARN:** Light Fingering Weight Yarn in two contrasting colors; approximately 450 yds/412 m in Color A (light) and 820 yds/750 m in Color B (dark) Sample was knit using Bad Sheep Yarn Fingering Weight (75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon); 462 yds/422 m per 100 g). Color A (light): 1 skein in Sea Glass Color B (dark): 2 skeins in Impressions **NEEDLES & NOTIONS:** • US 5/3.75 mm 32"/80 cm circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge) • 17 Stitch Markers • Darning Needle **GAUGE:** 26 sts x 34 rows = 4"/10 cm in Mosaic Dots, worked flat, after blocking. **APPROXIMATE SIZE AFTER BLOCKING:** 81.25”/203 cm length 16”/40 cm depth at center 19”/47.5 cm width at each end <hr> This pattern has been tech-edited and test-knit to ensure the best knitting experience possible for you!
