Slow color changes drift from light to dark along the length of this classic accessory. Knitters might also consider using a variegated yarn with a solid or work a fade across the length of the shawl. Easy garter stitch stripes are framed with alternating lines of slipped stitches, The shawl is worked sideways from one tip to the opposite tip, making it possible to use up all of one’s yarn. Only one color is used at a time. Optional tassels add a bit of swingy fun at each end. This pattern is very easy to resize by adding or subtracting the 4-row pattern repeats. If you have a kitchen scale, weigh your yarn and increase until just under half the yarn remains. Knitters may experiment with a lighter or heavier yarn weight and corresponding needles.
